In case some of you did not get this announcement, there is a special joint mini-symposium this Thursday and Friday with Peking University on pertinent planetary and space physics topics, as well as talks health and life sciences. See emails below for talk details, and please register (free) so they can track the number of participants and provide enough food (also free). For the (exo)planetary folks I would like to call attention to the visit by Prod. Yongyun Hu (School of Physics); his talk will be on Friday 10:30am
Titled: “Exo-oceanography, climate, and habitability of tidal-locking exoplanets around M stars”.
For the space physicists, I would like to call attention to the visits by: Professors Zuyin Pu, Suiyan Fu and PhD student Ruilong Guo.
Their talks are:
Prof. Pu: “ Magnetic topology and structure of FTE flux ropes: Solar wind-magnetosphere interaction at the magnetopause” (Friday 10:10am)
Prof. Fu: “ Ionospheric ion beams observed in plasma sheet boundary layer” (Friday 8:50am)
PhD candidate Ruilong Guo: “ Electron beams generated by the magnetic reconnection in the magnetotail ” (Friday 9:30am).
The above talks (on space) will all be at the CNSI Executive Conference Room.
