Dear Colleagues,

Based on what we know now about the fire and traffic conditions as well as the fact that many departmental staff have been unable to reach campus, we have decided to cancel classes that begin on or after noon.  Faculty should be flexible about making up for lost class time or for deadlines that may fall during the week.  Students who inquire of departments should be advised that faculty will inform them about making up class time or class work.  Depending on how conditions change during the day we will have further instructions this afternoon.  Faculty, students and staff should also be assured that the campus itself is not under any imminent danger.

If you have any questions, please let me know right away.  I am happy to work with you to get through these issues.
