Hi All,
An early notice that Geocheminar is moving to Monday's next quarter
(I'm scheduled to teach during the Tuesday 12-1 slot). This will result
in a diminished schedule as 1) the disciplinary seminar organizers have
been asked to not schedule the first two weeks during which the Department
is interviewing candidates for the two open positions, and 2) the first
Monday noon of each month conflicts with EPSS faculty meetings. In those
slots, graduate students have been invited to self-organize three, 20 min
talks. All non-faculty are welcome to attend. All seminars will be held as
usual in 3853 Slichter. The schedule is:

April 3 No seminar during EPSS recruitment season
April 10 No seminar during EPSS recruitment season
April 17 Peter Martin (Caltech) "A Young K-Ar Age of Jarosite in the Mojave
2 Sample at Gale Crater, Mars"
April 24 Ed Young (UCLA) TBA
May 1 graduate student seminars (Krista Sawchuk, Allie Schneider, Bryce
Mitsunaga)
May 8 Claire Bucholz (Caltech) “Temporal variations in atmosphere-solid
earth interactions across the Archean-Proterozoic Transition”
May 15 Patrick Boehnke (Chicago) "High-silica Hadean crust"
May 22 Jeanine Ash (UCLA) "Tracing the deep biosphere methane cycle with
fully resolved isotopologues of 13CH3D and 12CH2D2"
May 29 Memorial Day, no seminar
June 5 graduate student seminars (Heather Kirkpatrick, Jamie Dix, Jeff
Osterhout)
