An On-the-Spot award goes to Monica Alfredsen, as noted below. Monica was nominated by Jean-Luc Margot:

The Academic Personnel Office (APO) recently chose to deploy a third-party online case management system as part of its OPUS initiative.  While we welcome APO's entry into the digital age, the software launch could not have come at a worse time.  It came within days of the deadline for candidates to submit their dossiers for promotions.  As a result, Academic Personnel Coordinator Monica Alfredsen frantically migrated all documents to the new system and assisted candidates with learning the new system.  Several issues made the task quite challenging: (1) there are an unusually large number of promotion cases in EPSS this year; (2) the publication management part of the software is not ready, so Monica had to upload publications manually; (3) the batch upload capability is not ready, so Monica had to upload files one by one; and (4) permission issues prevented candidates from reviewing their own dossiers on the new system, so Monica duplicated everything onto ucla.box.com with the proper permissions.  Monica worked many hours to make the switch as painless as possible for everyone else. As a small token of our gratitude for going the extra mile, she will receive an EPSS On-the-Spot award.
