Folks

If you are working from home but need access to UCLA services, e.g., journal
subscriptions, remote disk mount, etc. note that although EPSS VPN is not
working reliably, you can use campus VPN with the same Cisco Secure Client
(AnyConnect) but going to the address: ssl.vpn.ucla.edu and using your UCLA
Credentials (w pass authentication). With weekend here, and preparations for
the new quarter, this might be useful.

Building

Dear all,

Over the last two days, you have experienced patchy, intermittent, or
non-existent internet access. Working under these conditions is not
possible. Aggravating the situation is the current understaffing of IT
services for EPSS.

I have been informed that the problem was related to the number of devices
connected to the local network, exceeding the number allowed network access.
A workaround has been found that temporarily fixed the lack of access while
EPSS/Division and Central IT work on upgrading the network.

I will make sure to keep everyone informed in the future.
