URGENT: Judges Needed for Student Papers at AGU Fall Meeting

From: Larry Paxton (larry.paxton at jhuapl.edu)

Judges for Student Papers are urgently needed. Please see https://fallmeeting.agu.org/2018/students/outstanding-student-presentation-award/ for details.

What are the responsibilities of an OSPA judge?
The time commitment to serve as an OSPA judge is minimal. You can fit judging in with the rest of your Fall Meeting schedule. The OSPA Portal allows for judges to search open presentations by Section, date, or session time. OSPA Judge responsibilities are as follows:

* Register and agree to the judge honor code and ensure you do not have a conflict of interest with any of the student presenters you sign up to evaluate.
* Sign up to judge at least three presentations on the OSPA Portal.
Evaluate the presentations you sign up for during the presenter's selected evaluation window during Fall Meeting.
* Submit presentation scores and comments on the OSPA Portal no later than 21 December 2018 at 11:59 p.m. ET. (Note: All judges who submit evaluations for all presentations they signed up for by 21 December will be entered into a raffle to win Fall Meeting 2018 registration reimbursement.)

How to sign up?
To register as an OSPA judge and sign up for student presentations, visit ospa.agu.org/2018. Please note, only non-student AGU members can volunteer as OSPA judges.

Why volunteer to be an OSPA judge?
Give back to students in Earth and space sciences. The generous time commitment and constructive feedback is vital for student growth and development. AGU greatly appreciates the time and effort of the OSPA judges. Read more about what past students and volunteers have to say about their experiences in this Eos article about OSPA.
