Dear Colleagues,

I am happy to announce that Dr. Kathleen Micham has accepted our Physical Sciences' Assistant Dean position.  Her official start date will be Tuesday, August 9, 2016.

Kathleen received her B.A. from Davidson College and her Ph.D. from Indiana University.  Prior to joining UCLA, Kathleen worked in various industries honing her administrative and managerial skills.  Within UCLA, she has served as the Marketing and Communications Manager for Summer Session, the Associate Director for Summer Sessions and Special Programs, the Chief Administrative Officer for Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences, and most recently as the Chief Administrative Officer for Chemistry and Biochemistry.

As evidence above, Kathleen brings with her years of experience from within the University, as well as from the outside.  We are pleased to have her join us in the Dean's Office, and look forward to her stalwart leadership within the Division of Physical Sciences.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jeanne Ladner for returning on recall during this transition period.
