On-the-Spot awards go to Emmanuel Masongsong, Eric Wessenauer, and Henry Gonzalez for going above and beyond, as noted below. They were nominated by Jean-Luc Margot and Emily Hawkins:

Emmanuel Masongsong, Eric Wessenauer, and Henry Gonzalez went a few extra miles to coordinate an extraordinary eclipse-viewing event on the UCLA campus this week.  In addition to recruiting EPSS support, they worked with two UCLA student groups in Astronomy and Engineering.  They successfully navigated multiple administrative hurdles and promotion of the event through a news release and web content.  The event was advertised on the primary UCLA web page and the Los Angeles Times, resulting in thousands of attendees. They also orchestrated a dress rehearsal with multiple telescopes to confirm that everything would work as expected during the eclipse.  The eclipse outreach event provided a wonderful opportunity to promote EPSS's mission and engage the public in science.  News media reported on the event, giving great exposure to EPSS.  Thank you to Emmanuel, Eric, and Henry, and to all EPSS volunteers for putting this amazing event together!  Great job!
