Geocheminotes:
   We are taking advantage of Christoph Burkhardt's visit to Caltech
yesterday to have a special edition of Geocheminar today.  The talk is at
2pm and will be followed by coffee+cookies at 3:00 which will be followed
by Dave Jewitt's "Bats outta Hell" colloquium at 3:30.  It promises to be
an exciting afternoon of interesting and informative science.
   There will be no Geocheminar on Friday.  The last Geocheminar of the
quarter will be on Monday, Dec 4, at noon and it will feature student talks
and/or AGU practice talks.  Thank you for your patience with the changeable
schedule this quarter.  We hope that many of you will be able to make both
talks this afternoon.

*Nucleosynthetic isotope anomalies as tracers of planetary genetics*



The discovery of nucleosynthetic isotope anomalies in bulk meteorites and
chondrite components is currently revolutionizing our understanding of the
early solar system. These anomalies not only allow to directly constrain
the genetic relations of planetary materials, but also trace the dynamical
evolution of the (proto-)planetary disk and the accretion history of
planets. In this talk I will present some of our recent work on the topic,
with a focus on chondrules and an update on the isotopic dichotomy between
carbonaceous and non-carbonaceous bodies initially described in Warren 2011.
