[IGPP Everyone] New IT Director - Rod O'Connor

Dear Everyone,

Please join me in welcoming Rod O'Connor as the new IT Director for Earth, Planetary, and Space Sciences, effective today, August 7!

As you know, Rod has worked in EPSS for nearly a year as a Programmer/Analyst II. Recently he assumed the IT Director responsibilities on an interim basis, in addition to his regular responsibilities, after Steve Salyards retired in June. He has done a great job filling both roles - not an easy feat.

He also applied for the career job as IT Director, and emerged as a clear frontrunner among the applicants. The search committee was unanimous in its decision to offer him the position (many thanks to the committee members for their efforts!).

If you are on campus anytime soon please stop by Rod's office in 4687 Geology to congratulate him.

Meanwhile we will launch a search ASAP for his replacement in the P/A II position.
