1. International Conference on Substorms 13 (ICS-13) date change
------------------------------------------------------------
From: Marc Lessard (marc.lessard at unh.edu)

The International Conference on Substorms 13 (ICS-13) had been planned for September, 2016. After discussions about the value of having the meeting in 2016 versus having the meeting a year later, the SOC has voted to change the date of the meeting to September, 2017. The primary driver for this action is that the MMS tail season will be during the spring/summer 2017 (when apogees are raised to ~25 RE). Advances in substorms based on these observations will make ICS-13 a significantly more effective and exciting meeting. In addition, the Japanese ERG satellite will be launched in in FY2016, making a meeting in 2017 more practical in terms of its contributions to substorms.
