GeoDAWG Seminar Series

From: Tomoko Matsuo, Anthony Sciola, Adam Michael (adam.michael at jhuapl.edu)

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to attend the monthly seminar series of the IAGA “Geospace Data Assimilation Working Group” (GeoDAWG). GeoDAWG’s purpose is to provide a forum to aid in the discussion of data assimilative modeling methods across the geospace sciences. More information can be found on our website: https://sites.google.com/view/geodawg/home

Seminars are held virtually at 11 am Eastern Time on the first Tuesday of every month.

The next seminar will be held on October 3rd by Harriet Turner titled “Solar wind data assimilation in an operational context.”

A link to join the seminar via Zoom can be found on the GeoDAWG website: https://sites.google.com/view/geodawg/seminars, along with the current GeoDAWG seminar schedule.

You can request to join our mailing list, https://sites.google.com/view/geodawg/mailing-list, if you would like to receive our regular newsletter where we share research highlights and information relevant to the community.

Speaker suggestions or questions can be also submitted online: https://sites.google.com/view/geodawg/contact-us, or you can email us directly at iaga.geodawg at gmail.com

Call for Papers: Special Topic "Solar Wind Turbulence: Its Origins, Evolution, and Impacts": Frontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences

From: Zhaoming Gan, Chen Shi (cshi1993 at ucla.edu)

We invite you to submit your original research and review papers to the Research Topic "Solar Wind Turbulence: Its Origins, Evolution, and Impacts" of the journal "Frontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences."

We welcome papers on solar wind turbulence, including but not limited to: (1) measurements of the plasma properties of solar winds, (2) theories and modeling of turbulence development, (3) plasma instabilities and wave modes in solar winds, (4) propagation and evolution of solar wind turbulence; (5) impacts of solar wind turbulence, for example, on magnetic structures, particle acceleration, and the cosmic ray transport, etc. We especially welcome comprehensive manuscripts with detailed data, methodology, and/or theories.

For a detailed description of the Research Topic, please visit the website: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/55378/solar-wind-turbulence-its-origins-evolution-and-impacts, or contact the editors Zhaoming Gan (zgan at newmexicoconsortium.org) and Chen Shi (cshi1993 at ucla.edu). We sincerely look forward to your contributions.
